Abstract: Zhou Gong has multiple components of priests, political kings and political education propagandists. In Duke Zhou, the Zhou people’s respect for “God” and the worship of “Heaven” were inherited and developed. The civilization and creation of Zhou Gong’s “using Yuan to match the sky” and “making gifts and making joys” not only showed emotional energy, but also filled with worship of the gods. Zhou Gong’s political and educational practice is in his illusion of morality, but he still shares the same religious worship. Zhou Gong’s worship and political and educational practice had a profound impact on Confucianism in later generations.

Confucians’ praise for Zhou Gong began with Confucius. Confucius said: “It’s so great that I’m declining! After a long time, I won’t dream of Duke Zhou.” (“Shuer”) Confucius wanted to revive Duke Zhou’s way. Mencius called Duke Zhou the “Ancient Saint” (“Mencius·President Suchou 2”), “thinking and serving the three kings” (“Mencius·President Suchou 2”), and he had the same achievements as the ancient sage king. Xunzi saw Duke Zhou as a great scholar: “The effect of the great scholar: King Wu collapsed, King Cheng was young, Duke Zhou opened the king and joined King Wu to belong to the whole country, and defeated the Zhou Dynasty. … Due to the harmony of the whole country, the business of literature and martial arts was transformed, and the nation was also very different. No sages could do it, but this was the effect of the great scholar.” (“Xunzi·心译”) From the pre-Qin Confucians’ emphasis on Duke Zhou, it can be seen that they were not only considering Duke Zhou as the thinker of “using the Yuan to match the heaven”, nor were they only “making gifts and making joy”, but also saints who combine political achievements and cultural moral education and education. Yang Xiangkui pointed out: “Without Preparing price pttWith Duke Zhou, there would be a country that would be ruled by King Wu, and without Zhou, there would be no worship civilization that would be passed down from the world; without Zhou, there would be no historical source of Confucianism, and without Confucianism, the traditional civilization of China can be another energy state.” [1] Therefore, when talking about Confucianism, we must talk about Zhou, and to explain the Confucianism, we must talk about Zhou’s worship and politics.
